PLACES TO VISIT

There are an abundance of places to visit nearby to suit all. From walking, cycling and horse riding. Nearby are some of the South West's best family days out, and many good places to eat and drink if you fancy a lunch or evening out. List below are just a few to consider.

MINIONS

Just a 10 min walk from the site across the open moors and you will reach the village of Minions. Surrounded by open moorland, peppered with the remains of Cornwall's industrial and prehistoric past, Minions is one of Cornwall's most dramatic landscapes for inland walking. The Highest Post Office and Tea Rooms in Cornwall, as will as within walking distance of the Hurlers stones, Gold diggings disused quarry and the Cheesewring stones.

GOLITHA FALLS

A stunning walk along the banks of a babbling river Fowey. The route is laid out and maintained and is fine for walking children, however most of the route is not suitable for a pram. There are many places suitable for paddling in the river and a number of places where a woodland picnic is possible, although these aren't dedicated picnic places so a blanket for the ground is a good idea. Some old structures are still standing and it is fun to explore.

ADRENALIN QUARRY
 

Adrenalin Quarry is an Aquapark, Gravity park, and Kart track all set around a beautiful flooded quarry. A local's favourite and a must do for visitors to Cornwall with unique rides to rival the best. Try The Zip, The Giant Swing, our massive Aquapark & Coasteering plus Karting on an all weather Race Track and even Axe Throwing!

EDEN PROJECT

The Eden Project is an Eco visitor attraction in Cornwall The project is located in a reclaimed China clay pit. consisting of 2 huge Bio Domes. Take a walk through a rain forest in the main dome, or explore the Mediterranean Biome. A great day out for all the Family.

SIBLYBACK LAKE

There are plenty of fun and free things to do. The 3-mile round lake path is popular with walkers, runners and cyclists and is also suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. The path, which runs adjacent to the lake, passes by the impressive Siblyback Dam and through woodlands. This is an idyllic location to get outdoors and breathe in the fresh air on a walk.

Don't forget to bring a camera. Siblyback is home to a variety of wildlife, so take your time to enjoy spotting the amazing array of flora and fauna surrounding you.

JAMAICA INN

Immortalised in Daphne du Maurier's eponymous tale of wrecking, rogues and pirates, this historic coaching house has welcomed travellers crossing Bodmin Moor for nearly 300 years. Full of legend, mystery, romance and even, according to folklore, the odd friendly spirit, Jamaica Inn is set in one of the most evocative moorland locations in Britain.
